This firm was established ten years ago by partners defecting from larger practices. They have managed to maintain a high calibre environment, without simply recreating those corporate structures.
The quality and variety of the work would be one of the major draw cards for this role, and the two partners are keen to stress the complexity of the work you do will depend on your ability rather than simply your PQE level. There will still be the bread and butter matters to deal with, but the team structure means you will consistently involved in the more meaty matters as well. The work is challenging and so they welcome a collaborative approach and your ideas and input will be encouraged.
The current team has two impressive partners, working with a broad base of mainly private investors and developers, including some based off-shore. They are 'very, very busy' and so you will be kept occupied from day one. As the senior team has grown they realised they now have the opportunity to bring in a more junior lawyer and provide the right mentoring and development opportunities.
The ability to work well and happily in the team structure will be important. The aim is to find people who are driven, with high standards, but not overtly individually competitive. They value people who are as committed and passionate about other aspects of their life as they are to work.
You will need at least 2 years PQE and likely up to about 4/5 years. The role is pure commercial property and so some previous experience is important.
