Fujitsu New Zealand is a very successful, highly respected and growing Information Technology services company.  It is part of a global corporation that is one of the largest IT services companies in the world, and operates as part of Fujitsu Oceania.

Fujitsu currently has a permanent vacancy in Wellington which requires a self-managing, clear-thinking individual with an eye for detail, with practical experience in the fields of IT law and contract law. This position operates within Fujitsu's Australasian Commercial and Legal Team, and reports to the Head of Commercial in Fujitsu New Zealand Limited.

The role includes the review of tenders and having responsibility for the contractual negotiations of customer contracts for a variety of IT solutions, together with relevant back to back supplier contracts.  The successful applicant will also be required to work closely with key stake holders in the business to assist the organisation in overcoming day to day commercial challenges, and will be required to provide training and advice as necessary on the internal business approval process.

To be successful you will be an intermediate level practitioner who is looking to develop further skills and knowledge in this field, and who is sufficiently flexible to be able to adapt to different tasks, requirements and business drivers. 
The successful applicant will be required to:

  • Promptly and accurately turn around work in support of the commercial team’s business targets.  
  • Engage and consult with key stakeholders in the business to provide commercial and legal support on contract and IT/IP legal matters.
  • Be able to accurately review, draft and negotiate IT contract and response documents within a set of pre-defined commercial standards.
  • Monitor and help ensure the successful delivery of business in accordance with approved and agreed contractual terms.
  • Exhibit confidence and develop good rapport in negotiating with both customers and suppliers, and be able to succinctly put forward compelling negotiation points.
  • Have a solid grasp of contract law and application to the business.
  • Provide training, advice and guidance to sales and services internal staff on the company business approval process.
  • Undertake general contractual administration and maintenance duties as required.
  • Be able to work on a high volume of matters, and be able to perform under pressure.
  • Ensure contracts are properly maintained, including under accurate change control, reflecting the current customer delivery profile.
  • Develop an understanding of the Fujitsu Partnering Programme and be able to assist in its implementation with customers.
