On meeting the partners at this firm it is immediately obvious that personality fit will be very important as they search for someone to join their team. Alongside the respect there is plenty of banter and a no-nonsense down-to-earth approach.

Someone is moving to the regions and has left a gap for a capable and talented lawyer ready to make a contribution from day one. The work has a strong property bias and they have a particular niche in retail development and property management. That creates a lot of leasing work, but the client relationships mean that you could be called on for all sorts of legal advice, often at very short notice. In this role you will need your commercial and legal wits about you in equal measure.

Although there are no immediate partnership prospects, the age and stage of at least one of the partners mean there should be space at the top in the not-too-distant future. In the meantime a growing client base means there is plenty of opportunity to build your own practice and make your case.
