The firm is a well-established, full-service firm and has one of the biggest footprints across New Zealand with offices dotted across the South and North Island. They are proud to offer their clients a top tier service, mid-tier pricing and boutique-style interaction.
The firm recruited a partner last year to establish their banking & finance practice in Auckland and that partner is now ready to grow her team. The role represents a unique opportunity for a 3-5 year level solicitor as you’ll be working directly with the partner and with no senior associate in the team, the world could be your oyster.
The partner previously worked at major law firms in New Zealand and London and it goes without saying your training and development will be second to none. She advised on domestic and international transactions and her experience includes the coordination of offshore counsel in relation to the granting of local law governed securities and guarantees, as well as acting as New Zealand counsel on international transactions. She also advised overseas banks on establishing New Zealand subsidiaries, including in relation to their registration as a bank with the Reserve Bank of New Zealand. She has particular expertise in securitisation and other structured financial products (including derivates).
The role will see you work across all aspects of banking and financial services including corporate and institutional lending transactions, property finance, leveraged and acquisition finance, project finance and providing advice on financial sector regulation. The banking and finance team is part of the wider national corporate team giving you the opportunity to also work collaboratively on corporate and commercial files. Overall the firm has a non-hierarchical, down-to-earth and friendly working culture.
